WCS Has Spirit By Alana English

Each year, during homecoming week at WCS, the cheerleaders pep us up in different ways.  This year, we are having a contest for a coach to be cheerleader for a day.  The candidates are Coach King, Coach Mac, and Coach Tepper.  The students and faculty will vote for their choice to be cheerleader for a day.  We will have a bonfire on Thursday and a PreK-12 pep rally on Friday.  The entire week, however, is marked by spirit days, where the student body and faculty and staff celebrate homecoming by dressing wacky for each day.

This year's spirit week is as follows:

Spirit Days for Week of September 20-24

Monday………………...MULTICOLOR DAY
Tuesday………………..HOLIDAY
Wednesday……………TWIN DAY
Thursday……………….CAMO DAY
Friday……………………BLUE & GOLD DAY

WHS Senior Beta Club Holds First Meeting By Alana English

Senior Beta Club Seal
Thursday, September 16, marked the first Senior Beta Club meeting of the school year.  The agenda included some unfinished business from last spring—  run-off election of officers.
After tallying the votes, the officers are as follows:
President…………..Jennifer Ruff
Vice President…….Crystal Wallace
Secretary…………..Alesia Henderson
                                Treasurer……….......Ian Elsmore
Another item on the agenda was the Senior Beta Convention.  The club discussed a possible small group talent entry, the scrapbook competition, the banner logo, and convention costs.  The main topic was our candidate for office this year— Dakota Miller will throw his hat in the ring for State Beta President!
This year the Senior Beta Convention will move back to its old site at beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC.  Last year, the convention was in Columbia.  For several years prior to that, the convention had been in historic Charleston.
The members were also given a convention payment schedule on Friday, September 17.  The nonrefundable deposit of $50.00 is due September 27.
